PancakeSwap Delivers 2.4M ZK Token Airdrop to Users

PancakeSwap, a decentralized exchange (DEX) operating across multiple blockchains, has launched a major community reward program starting from July 5 at 10:30 am UTC until August 5 at 10:30 am.

During this period, the platform will distribute 2,452,128 zkSync (ZK) tokens to its community. This initiative recognizes the ongoing support and engagement of the community since the deployment of zkSync on PancakeSwap in July 2023.

The announcement follows PancakeSwap achieving milestones such as surpassing $3 billion in trading volume, locking over $5 million in total value (TVL), and attracting more than 1.9 million traders.

Eligibility for the airdrop includes veCAKE Holders, Liquidity Providers, Active Traders, participants in the Traverse Campaign, zkSync Prediction Users, and zkSync Gauge Voters who meet specified criteria.

Requirements for ZK Airdrop Eligibility on PancakeSwap

The zkSync airdrop initiative aims to recognize and reward both historical contributors and current participants, including those holding vote-escrowed Cake (veCAKE). Active users who have engaged with the platform through trading activities, providing liquidity, and participating in previous zkSync initiatives are eligible for this distribution of rewards. By incentivizing ongoing engagement and acknowledging past support, PancakeSwap seeks to foster community involvement and strengthen its ecosystem’s participation across various user roles.

The 2.4 million ZK airdrop from zkSync through PancakeSwap aims to reward not only longstanding contributors who have supported the platform’s growth but also newcomers who actively engage with PancakeSwap. This initiative underscores PancakeSwap’s commitment to incentivizing participation and fostering community involvement across its ecosystem.

Any tokens that remain unclaimed will be redirected back into the PancakeSwap ecosystem for future community initiatives and development.

ZKSync developer faces scrutiny

Matter Labs, the developer behind zkSync, has rebutted accusations of “insider minting” concerning its Libertas Omnibus non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Initially raised by blockchain research firm SoEasy on June 17, the allegations implied that Matter Labs distributed NFTs to ineligible insiders.

In response, a Matter Labs spokesperson clarified to Cointelegraph that “there were no invalid mints” and that the NFTs were legitimately acquired through interaction or by event attendees.
